Russ Kaufmann

Instructor

Russ Kaufmann (MVP, MCT, MCITPx4, MCTSx6, MCSE, CTT+) has been working for over 18 years in the IT industry as a consultant, speaker, certified trainer, technical editor, and author. Russ is highly respected for his expertise in High Availability and Microsoft server products. In his role as a Mindsharp instructor, Russ enjoys sharing his experience and insights with students as they learn new IT skills.

Microsoft has awarded Russ with the title of Most Valuable Professional (MVP) from 2005 through 2009, for his contributions in the Windows Clustering community. He is a frequent speaker at key conferences such as Microsoft TechEd, where he recently presented on Windows Server 2008 High Availability. Russ has co-authored several books on Microsoft server products and has worked with Microsoft on several projects including:

  • Developed Microsoft official courseware for troubleshooting Exchange Server 2003
  • Developed a Seminar on Windows High Availability
  • Worked on MCP exams for several products

Russ considers himself “a geek to the extreme.” The IT bug bit him while pursuing a Doctorate in Finance where he received a Presidential Fellowship. Since then, Russ has owned three successful companies, consulted with at least 100 companies on implementing IT projects, and has trained thousands of students in the IT industry.

In his spare time, Russ raises puppies for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI). The puppies go on to advanced training at the CCI facilities where they are trained to assist the physically handicapped and hearing impaired.
