Overview
This 5-day course is designed to give developers basic and intermediate information
about how to leverage the SharePoint Foundation (SPF) 2010 platform extensions to
create enterprise SharePoint applications that empower the end user to self-sufficiency
and self-reliance in either a SharePoint Site Collection or the entire SharePoint
Farm.
In Room or Online
We provide you the opportunity to choose the location where you will attend this
event. What is your best environment for learning? Would you rather participate
from the same room where the instructor is teaching; or would you prefer learning
from the comfort of your own home/office? You will achieve the same learning goals,
with the same opportunities for interacting with the instructor and participating
in the labs in either context. So, in room or online, you choose. Either way you
will complete the course inspired and ready to take the SharePoint bull by the horns.
If you choose to attend online, you will need to sure the following environment
is available before the class begins:
- Use the following Live Meeting URL and click the Accept Terms and Install Client
link and run the LMSetup.exe that it downloads:
http://bit.ly/LiveMeeting2007
- You have the option of downloading and hosting your own Hyper-V VHD from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=751fa0d1-356c-4002-9c60-d539896c66ce
- Two monitors are required, one to view the instructor and one to do the labs (don't
underestimate the necessity of this requirement)
- Speakers and a microphone (ideally a headset)
- At least 350kbps download bandwidth; low bandwidth will diminish your online experience
- Run Windows Remote Desktop (mstsc.exe) and connect to the following address: 173.8.123.114:1101
Student Prerequisites
Ideally, students will already possess some hands on SharePoint end user experience,
be familiar with Visual Studio, and possess some knowledge of .NET programming language
(like C# or VS.NET) as well as object oriented concepts. Some ASP.NET experience
including User Controls, Server Controls, and Web Services is helpful. Web oriented
development and Web technologies like CSS, ECMAScript, and HTML are not required
but will help with some course labs.
Audience
The primary audience for this course is .NET developers that need to learn SharePoint.
