Overview
Mindsharp offers the only SQL Server 2005 Administration / SharePoint 2007 class
that discusses several SQL Server Properties configured in a default SQL Server
installation that have a significant impact on the security, performance, and recoverability
of SharePoint.
This four-day custom class, offered only by Mindsharp, discusses several SQL Server
configuration settings, and planning decisions that you have to consider prior to
installing SQL Server and SharePoint in your organization. Often issues arise after
the installation of SQL and SharePoint because people aren’t aware of how to perform
an installation of SQL and SharePoint so that they complement each other. Furthermore,
there are settings that can be changed to improve the integration between the two
products.
In this class we’ll discuss hardware and software considerations, SharePoint database
settings (collation, sizing, location, others), SQL tools for managing SharePoint
databases, securing information, monitoring SharePoint activity in SQL Server, transferring
data from your content databases to other locations (another SQL Server instance,
Excel, even a flat file), SharePoint reporting using SQL Server Reporting Services
(SSRS), backup and recovery process minimizing SharePoint down time, and of course
different options for you to implement high availability of your SQL Servers to
maximize SharePoint’s uptime.

students in the classroom and online, via Live Meeting technology.
